摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high energy density capable of sufficiently restraining temperature rise of the battery at the time of occurrence of short circuit. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 1 wherein a positive electrode plate 5 having a positive electrode mix layer including a positive electrode active material capable of occluding and discharging lithium and a positive electrode core material, a negative electrode plate 6 having a negative electrode mix layer including a negative electrode active material capable of occluding and discharging lithium and a negative electrode core material, a separator 7 lying between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, and a nonaqueous electrolyte are sealed in a battery case 2, at least either the positive electrode plate 5 or the negative electrode plate 6 has an electrode plate resistance of 0.4 &Omega; cm<SP>2</SP>or more in a thickness direction in a charged state when it is pressurized at a pressure of 50 Kg/cm<SP>2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
