PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a boron trifluoride-tetrahydropyran complex, by which the boron trifluoride-tetrahydropyran complex as a chemically single highly pure boron trifluoride-ether complex can simply be synthesized in good productivity in a sufficient yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing the boron trifluoride-tetrahydropyran complex comprises distilling a composition comprising tetrahydropyran and boron trifluoride or mixing a boron trifluoride complex with tetrahydropyran and then distilling the mixture. It is preferable to use tetrahydropyran not containing water. The boron trifluoride complex is preferably at least one selected from ether compound-boron trifluoride complexes (excluding the boron trifluoride-tetrahydropyran complex), amine compound-boron trifluoride complexes and sulfide compound-boron trifluoride complexes.
