PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step guard with illumination display for inducing aesthetic appearance by appealing to a visual sense of vehicle drivers corresponding to their various tastes, floating solid or perspective patterns in darkness, and showing patterns different in taste at daytime and night. SOLUTION: In this step guard with illumination display, a mirror body is installed in a shielding box. A light guide is placed on the mirror body, and the surface of the light guide is exposed from the shielding box to the outside. The cross section of the light guide is tilted and reduced in thickness from the incident end surface to the reflective end surface and the thickness. A LED light source is so disposed as to be opposed to the incident end surface of the light guide, and a pattern recessed part is formed in the rear surface of the light guide.
