An imaging device, a recording medium recording an imaging control program and an imaging control method are provided to obtain an image photographed by an imaging device when it is possible to obtain characteristic information, thereby obtaining characteristic information of an image without an unnecessary image obtaining process. If a shutter key is manipulated, feature data is obtained from step S103 to step S104. It is determined whether the feature data is obtained through S104(S105). A face image photographing process is performed when it is possible to obtain the feature data(S109). And a file writing process is performed through S114. The feature data and image data are written in a format of a face registration file to generate a single face registration file while writing a format of the face registration file.
