[Also in Division E2] An integral articulable article 10, Fig. 1, which may be made from polypropylene comprises two spaced upstanding members 15, 16 of which at least one is resiliently bendable, a first swingable member 18 hingedly joined to one of the upstanding members 15 through a first flexible web 20 constituting a first hinge line, a second swingable member 22 hingedly joined to the other of the upstanding members 16 through a flexible web 23 constituting a second hinge line, the first and second swingable members 18, 22 being hingedly joined together at points remote from the first and second hinge lines through a third flexible web constituting a third hinge line, at least one swingable member being ungeniculate between its two hinge lines, all of the hinge lines being substantially parallel. As shown in Fig. 1, in which the members 15, 16 are provided with extensions 34, 35 for securing the article to a base 12, the members 18, 22 are joined through spaced-apart flexible webs 28, 32 to a third swingable member 25, which, in the position shown, is in clamping engagement with the base 12. In a similar arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown), in which the article is a pants hanger and includes a suspension hook 62, the upstanding members are integral with the base by which the hanger is supported. In the arrangement according to Fig. 5 in which the article is a wall mounted support 64 for a broom 65, swingable members 71, 74 are connected together by a single web 78, the arrangement being such that when the broom handle is pressed into engagement with your portions 83 of the members 71, 74 the latter are pivoted over, centre to the Fig. 6 position whereby substantially to enclose the handle. In a further arrangement, Fig. 7, not shown, similar to and for the same purpose as that of the Fig. 4 arrangement, the third swingable member is formed by two articulated portions (100) (101), one of which is provided with a projection (108) by which all the swing- able members may be moved outwardly of the base. |
