<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of providing an image of high image quality by restraining a T/(T+C) ratio and a quantity of charged developer in a developing unit from significantly fluctuating, while restraining an increase in the number of components and a cost increase. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a density detecting means 1 for detecting the density of a density detection image pattern formed at predetermined contrast potential; and a control means for controlling toner supply based on a detected density and a predetermined target density. The target density is a density lower than the density of a detection image pattern formed at the predetermined contrast potential with fresh developer. The apparatus has an image formation quantity measuring means 140 that integrates quantities of image formation. According to the integrated value obtained by the image formation quantity measuring means 140, image forming conditions for regular image formation are corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
