<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device which does not require a thickness sensor and which prevents variation of speed of a member that conveys a sheet regardless of sheet type and environmental conditions, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Speed information obtained by a speed measuring means 8 provided to a pair of upstream rollers 1 is stored in a storage part 13, and a calculating part 14 calculates a control target value from the stored speed information. The control target value is sent to a control part 19 for controlling a drive motor 15 so as to perform speed control of a pair of downstream rollers 2. By generating the control target value from the variation of speed in the pair of upstream rollers 1, the appropriate control is performed and the variation of speed in the pair of downstream rollers 2 is suppressed regardless of sheet thickness and type and the environmental conditions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
