摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability and communication performance at a trouble by making a frame buffer capacity variable at each port in a fabric switch of a storage network. <P>SOLUTION: A fabric switch which is arranged on a data transfer route in a storage network and equipped with a routing circuit for transferring buffers and frames in each of ports to a destination port is provided with a port monitoring unit which monitors the communication status of each of the ports to determine the number of buffers to be replenished in each of the ports depending on the communication status and a spool memory which is interposed between the routing circuit and a transmission buffer of each of the ports and assigns the number of buffers determined to each of the ports to make the buffers dynamically variable within a given capacity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
