PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of carrying out the interrupt processing of a printer at appropriate timing as needed without an interrupt instruction by the user and irrespective of a paper count to be printed. SOLUTION: According to the operation of the printer, a volume identifying means 31 identifies the volume of each of a plurality of jobs which a receiving section 30 receives, and if it is determined by an interrupt determining means 32 that the volume of a subsequent job (a count p of unprinted sheets of paper) with respect to the volume of a preceding job (a count p of unprinted sheets of paper) is equal to or below a preset ratio, the interrupt processing of the subsequent job is carried out.
