PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a selecting operation while watching any of an attached monitor and an external monitor. SOLUTION: Compressed image data recorded in a disk 20 is transmitted to a codec 14 via a disk controller 18 and a buffer 16 to be extended. An image processing part 22 generates a thumbnail used for an LCD 28 and a thumbnail used for the external monitor 60, from a reproduced image from the codec 14, stores the former in an image memory 24 and stores the latter in an image memory 29. A CPU 34 updates display images on a screen of the LCD 28 and the external monitor device 60 according to an operation for selecting an image of an operation part 42 and moves a selection frame.
