摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system in which an out-of-range mobile station can spontaneously select an optimal repeating mobile station. SOLUTION: Repeating communication is established by: a first step of discriminating that the out-of-range mobile station is outside the service area of a base station and transmitting a "repeating communication request" signal to an intra-range mobile station; a second step of transmitting, to the out-of-range mobile station, a "repeating communication response" signal including information of whether repeating communication is enabled or not, after the intra-range mobile station receives the "repeating communication request" signal from the out-of-range mobile station; a third step of making the out-of-range mobile station wait for the reception of the "repeating communication response" signal from the intra-range mobile station for a predetermined period of time; and a fourth step of making the out-of-range mobile station to decide whether or not the reception level of the received "repeating communication response" signal reaches a specified value, comparing reception levels in a case where a plurality of "repeating communication response" signals are received, selecting an optimal repeating partner, and designating the selected one intra-range mobile station to transmit a "repeating communication determination notification" signal thereto.
