PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user friendliness while avoiding a problem that occurs when using only synchronous transfer, in a camera system or a data transmission method. SOLUTION: A camera system is configured so as to transmit/receive image data through so-called hand-shake transfer at one or more of three spots between an imaging device section 2 and an imaging sensor I/F LSI 3, between the imaging sensor I/F LSI 3 and a signal processing LSI 4 and between the signal processing LSI 4 and a display processing LSI 5. The hand-shake transfer enables a RDY signal and a VALID signal to be transmitted/received between a transmitting side and a receiving side to thereby transfer data while confirming whether transfer is enabled or not, and various kinds of processing can be executed uniformly in a time division manner.
