PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic flowmeter capable of estimating a flow velocity distribution state pattern, even if flow velocity distribution changes in a fluid flow zone, and calculating the flow rate of a fluid to be measured based on the flow velocity distribution pattern, without providing a partitioning member etc. inside a passage. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic flowmeter is equipped with the passage 30 where the fluid to be measured flows, a pair of ultrasonic transducers 10, 20 arranged at positions facing each other with the passage 30 between obliquely, and a flow rate calculation section 13 for calculating the flow rate of the fluid to be measured based on propagation time of an ultrasonic wave transmitted and received with the ultrasonic transducers 10, 20. The ultrasonic transducers 10, 20 transmit and receive the ultrasonic wave in each piezoelectric element block divided in their thickness direction. Based on propagation time of the ultrasonic wave transmitted and received in each piezoelectric element block or a flow velocity calculated from the propagation time, the calculation section 13 estimates flow velocity distribution, and calculates the flow rate of the fluid to be measured from the estimated flow velocity distribution.
