Solid electrolyte electrochemical cell - with a molybdenum wire reference couple

Add. to 1589710 which describes a solid electrolyte electrochemical cell for determining O2 activity in molten metals esp. Fe alloys, with a metal-oxide couple (I) reference whose equilibrium partial O2 pressure is within the operational temp. range, and the couple has a divided surface formed e.g. by sintering to ensure superficial oxidation at high temps. Specifically (I) is a metallic Mo wire in an oxidant atmos., MoO2 forming on its surface at the molten metal temp. The Mo wire also ensures electrical contact with the surface of the solid electrolyte.
