The machine has a support ring (3) having a surface for supporting an underside of a replaceable needle cylinder (7). An attachment (9) axially projects above the underside to facilitate replacement of the needle cylinder. The supporting surface is arranged below an upper edge of the attachment and into a mounting position. Lifting parts contain eccentrics which are arranged between the support ring and the needle cylinder that are placed to be rotatable around rotational axes arranged transverse to a machine axis (4).
