Pure table salt - by heating mixt of rock salt/anti-caking agent and subjecting to electrostatic field

Very pure, freely flowing rock salt or table salt is prepd. from rock salt contg. small amts. of anhydrite and kieserite, esp. 2.8% anhydrite and is not >0.6% kieserite, by (a) mixing the rock salt with anti-caking agents in a dry state, (b) heating the mixt. to 40-120 degrees C pref. 60-80 degrees C, and (c) exposing to the action of a high tension electrostatic field. Gives very pure, freely flowing salt which is suitable for use in foods, dyeing and regeneration of ion exchangers for water purificn.
