PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma voltage generating circuit that can decrease failure in picture quality caused by a difference in kickback voltages between different gradations and can be obtained in a relatively simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: The gamma voltage generating circuit includes a resistor string part, a first resistor part and a second resistor part. A first power voltage is applied to one terminal of a plurality of resistors connected in series in the resistor string part, while a second power voltage is applied to the other terminal of the string part. The resistor string part outputs a plurality of gamma voltages from nodes between resistors. The first resistor part preferably includes a first switching element and a first resistor and is connected in series between the first power terminal and one terminal of the resistor string part. The second resistor part includes a second switching element and a second resistor connected in parallel and is connected in series between the second power terminal and the other terminal of the resistance string part.
