<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door handle for a vehicle, excellent in ease of use and applicable even to a compact car in which it is difficult to make a door for the vehicle thick. <P>SOLUTION: This door handle 30 for vehicle has a handle shaft 32 provided rotatably on the door 21 for vehicle, a handle part 33 held rotatably around the handle shaft 32, and a switch part 34 for detecting operation incidental to opening and closing of the door including locking/unlocking operation or opening and closing operation of the door 21 for vehicle. The handle shaft 32 is divided into a first handle shaft 56 and a second handle shaft 57 in the axial direction, and the first handle shaft 56 and the second handle shaft 57 are provided while separated from each other in the axial direction.
