PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball auto-balance system control method for an optical disk device, to be applied to all auto-balance systems. SOLUTION: The ball auto-balance system control method for the optical disk device is provided with a spindle motor and a rotor for housing at least one ball, and includes the steps of: setting the acceleration/deceleration range of the spindle motor between a first rotational speed and a second rotational speed; performing acceleration/deceleration within the acceleration/deceleration range at least twice by driving the rotor by the spindle motor; obtaining a signal error value generated by the optical head of the optical disk device after the acceleration/deceleration of the spindle motor within the acceleration/deceleration range; and controlling the spindle motor to accelerate up to an operation rotational speed when the signal error value is smaller than a predetermined value.
