<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of reliably detecting an object with a simple construction regardless of its used condition. <P>SOLUTION: Non-visible light LIR is emitted from a display surface 10 of a display part 1. The non-visible light LIR reflected by the object 12 to be detected in contact with or close to the display surface 10 is received on the display surface 10. Detection of the object 12 to be detected is performed on the basis of the received non-visible light LIR. The object can be reliably detected without being affected by a used condition such as a display condition of the display part 1 and an ambient condition (bright or dark). Since it is not necessary to separately provide a component such as a touch panel, detection of the object can be achieved with the simple construction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
