PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in precision of image processing on an image obtained by photography when the image processing is carried out. SOLUTION: The imaging device has an imaging unit (102) which photographs a subject and outputs an electric image signal, a detecting means (120, 121) of detecting a predetermined object from the image signal, a determining means (112) of determining photographic conditions to be used for photography using the detection result of the predetermined object, a signal processing circuit (104) which performs image processing on an image signal obtained through photography of the imaging unit under the determined photographic conditions using the detection result of the predetermined object obtained by the detecting means, and a control means of controlling the timing of detection of the predetermined object for use of the detection result of the predetermined object by the image processing circuit to behind the timing of detection of the predetermined object for use of the detection result of the predetermined object by the determining means.
