Soluble coffee - from battery percolator in which the percolators are operated in pairs

Two columns are filled with fresh roasted coffee and the volatile aromatics are stripped from one of these columns. After a draw-off cycle has been completed these two fresh columns are placed on-stream and additional draw-off is taken from the fresh column which has not been stripped. Ground coffee is then discharged from the two percolator columns containing the most extracted coffee. The extract is split into high and low concentration portions prior to drying.
