PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent engine oil from being diluted by fuel adhesion to a wall surface in a cylinder in cylinder direct injection of alcohol mixed fuel. SOLUTION: In this cylinder injection type engine which directly injects fuel into the cylinder, fuel injection time of ethanol mixed gasoline injected from an injector is adjusted in accordance with ethanol concentration. When an ethanol concentration is not less than a prescribed value, divided injection is performed, the first fuel injection is performed in the first half of an intake stroke in which the lift amount of an intake valve is comparatively small, and the second fuel injection is performed within a period of time L in the vicinity of the time for the maximum valve lift amount Lm of the intake valve.
