PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of transmitting signals to a suction port body from a cleaner body by utilizing the voltage waveform of the power supply to an operation part, and capable of inhibiting reduction of the power to be fed to the operation part being operated. SOLUTION: A suction port motor 13 for rotating a rotary cleaning body 18 is provided at the suction port body 5. The suction nozzle motor 13 is operated with a suction port power supply part 48 as the power supply, and the operation is commanded by an operation button 11 in a hand operation pipe 12. When the suction port motor 13 is operated based on a signal commanding the operation of the suction port motor 13, the current flowing in a power line 14 is varied.
