METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CORRELATING STREAMS WITHIN A PACKET NETWORK

<p>A method and system for correlating data streams within a packet network. The method relies on independently selecting the same packets as reference packets at different places and times within the network. Once selected, the data contained in a given reference packet is utilized to generate a unique tag for that reference packet. This tag can later be compared with other tags generated at other places and times within the network to track the reference packet and its containing stream as it travels over the network.</p>
