A decoding apparatus is provided to perform a decoding process of an LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) code at high speed. A plurality of storage units store a logarithmic likelihood or a logarithmic posteriori probability ratio of one codeword at an address of a respective independent storage unit. A read-out unit(202) reads out the logarithmic likelihood or the logarithmic posteriori probability ratio corresponding to elements of non-zero value of one row of the check matrix used in a coding process of an LDPC code among a logarithmic likelihood or a logarithmic posteriori probability ratio of one codeword stored in the storage units.
