PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a damping force variable damper capable of stably generating appropriate damping force even in a minimal stroke of the damper. SOLUTION: When the absolute value of a stroke speed Ss of the damper is not larger than a predetermined determination threshold value Ssth, and the determination in a step S5 becomes No, the damper control device 50 sets a target damping force in a step S11, assumes that the direction of the target damping force and the direction of the stroke of the damper 4 are same in a step S12, searches a target current Itgt from a drive current map based on the target damping force and the stroke speed of the damper 4 in a step S8, and outputs the drive current to an MLV coil 40 of each damper 4 in a step S9.
