PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative thermosensitive lithographic printing forme using a latex composite without coloring and excellent in printing characteristics. SOLUTION: (i) This is a negative thermosensitive lithographic printing forme precursor made up with a support having a hydrophilic surface or a layer and a coating applied on it. The above coating includes an image recording layer consisting of hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles and a hydrophilic binder, and those polymer particles have an average diameter within the range of 45-63 nm in an amount of at least 70 % in weight in the image recording layer.(ii) This precursor is exposed to heat or infra-red light to unitize the thermoplastic polymer particles in the exposed areas. Then, it is developed by using an alkaline solution containing a surfactant of pH more than 10 to remove the areas having the coating but not exposed from the support. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
