An angle sensor which detects the change of a beam direction is attained by an optical system utilizing critical angle reflection to facilitate adjustment and to improve sensitivity. The beam direction is computed from the change of the difference output between a photodiode (PD1) which receives light reflected by a high refractive index medium and a photodiode (PD2) which receives light transmitted through the high refractive index medium. It is also possible to compute the beam direction from the rotation angle of a prism (PS) by rotating the prism (PS) so as to zero the difference between the outputs.
|
