The method involves forming a sleeve-shaped reel section (6a) of a strap lug (2) by bending a section of a sheet metal piece provided with an inner sided groove (8). A swiveling pin (5) is provided with a radial slub (7), and is pressed into the reel section of the strap lug. The reel section radially springs back, when the slub of the swiveling pin reaches the groove of the reel section, so that the swiveling pin is held at the reel section of the strap lug in an undetachable manner. Another reel section (6c) of the strap lug is formed in distance to the former reel section. An independent claim is also included for a door hinge.
