<p>A slide bar assembly (20) is provided having a slide bar (26) supporting a bracket assembly (28) that is suitable to retain a handheld showerhead (30). A brake assembly (96) releasably couples the bracket assembly (28) to the slide bar (26) via a user-actuated trigger (42) in order to allow the user to adjust the height of the showerhead (30) by pressing the trigger (42).
