METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DATA TRANSFER IN PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK

A method and a device for transferring data in P2P(Peer-to-Peer) network are provided to supply contents via a peer at a minimum network distance or with a minimum communication delay, thereby improving the contents download speed. A device for transferring data in P2P network includes a server(300) and clients(peers). The server includes an administration part(310) for managing network topology information of clients of P2P service, and an interface part(330) for supplying a first client with a peer list including the information of a client at a minimum distance from the first client on the basis of the network topology information at the contents request of the first client. A peer list generating part(320) generates the peer list with reference to stored network topology information.
