<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for planning the production of steel bar products and a manufacturing method thereof to plan manufacturing so as to satisfy manufacturing constraints and increase yield and other evaluation indices as well. <P>SOLUTION: The steel bar product production planning method has a billet design step of reading a plurality of orders for different dimensions and combining them on billets to design a combination on a plurality of billets required for all the orders, and a manufacturing plan creation step of creating a manufacturing plan for the plurality of billets designed in the billet design step. When designing an order group returned from the manufacturing plan creation step, the billet design step repeats a series of operations of billet design for resetting an initial maximum billet length to a smaller value to reduce surplus weight so as not to increase the number of billets by referring to the total length of the order group and a maximum billet length limit, more than once until all the orders are satisfied, and adopts the result as a solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
