PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic unit with low pressure loss and high decomposition efficiency with thin structure. SOLUTION: In the photocatalytic unit 1 containing a photocatalyst element 4 comprising gas-permeating photocatalyst sheets 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d and a light source 2 exciting the photocatalyst in a casing 5, the casing 5 is formed thin, and the photocatalyst sheets 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d are set in multilayered structure of three or four layers, each being separated from each other.
