PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asbestos-containing building material treatment method which can satisfactorily perform treatment while surely preventing scattering of asbestos. SOLUTION: A crushing means 3 for crushing asbestos-containing building materials is installed inside a casing 2, and glycerin G, which is a combustion improving liquid, is stored inside the casing 2 so as to immerse at least the crushing means 3. The asbestos-containing building materials A are supplied into the casing 2 to be subjected to crushing treatment by the crushing means 3 while being immersed in the glycerin G, and then crushed pieces A' of the asbestos-containing building materials, precipitated in the glycerin G are subjected to heating and melting treatment in a kiln or the like, which enables sure prevention of scattering of asbestos into the atmosphere during the crushing treatment, and efficient and satisfactory treatment because the glycerin G adhering to or absorbed in the crushed pieces A' exhibits combustion improving effect during the melting treatment.
