PURPOSE:To obtain the title platinum vessel for high temp. use capable of remarkably reducing the consumption of Pt while reducing the volatilization of Pt when the vessel is used at high temp. by coating glass on the surface of the Pt (alloy) vessel. CONSTITUTION:A coating layer 3 of the glass stable at high temp. and consisting, for example, of 68.9% SiO2, 10.2% B2O3, 8.4% Na2O, 2.8% K2O, and 1.0% Al2O3 is formed on the surface of a platinum crucible 1 contg. molten glass 2 by a dip process. The circulation of air to the surface of the Pt (alloy) is prevented by the coating layer 3 stable at high temp., the oxidation and volatilization of Pt are controlled, and the consumption of expensive Pt can be remarkably reduced. |
