PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an active matrix type display device by using a flexible substrate, where a TFT is formed with good positional accuracy, and also, variation in TFT characteristics can be easily suppressed. SOLUTION: Regarding the method of manufacturing the display device having a substrate on which pixels driven by the TFTs are arrayed, the flexible substrate 10 is used as the substrate, and the TFT is formed so that a direction of a channel length L between the source and drain of the TFT may be aligned with a direction X where the dimensional change rate of the substrate is lower among two directions perpendicular to each other on the flexible substrate.
