PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector reducing the burden on users when a plurality of different images are projected by a plurality of projectors. SOLUTION: Each projector 100 includes an imaging part having an imaging field of view capable of imaging at least an area other than a projection area of each image. Each projector 100 searches for another projector 100 capable of communicating therewith (step 203), acquires ID of another projector 100 (step 209), and performs the projection one by one, and the rest three perform the imaging so that the imaging results are reported mutually (steps 211 to 247). Each projector 100 recognizes its own projection position (step 251) on the basis of the imaging results of the imaging fields of view S1 to S4 of all the projectors 100, and automatically selects and projects a proper image in accordance with the position (steps 255, 257).
