PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-speed activation of an overall apparatus and energy saving. SOLUTION: A recording and playback apparatus 100 has: a first mode in which power is fed via a first switch 20 and the recording and playback apparatus is put into a standby state; and a second mode in which neither the first switch 20 nor second switch 10 feeds power and the recording and playback apparatus is put into a standby state.
