PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner excellent in productivity and dispersibility of a colorant and a release agent. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner for electrostatic charge image development is characterized in that: a toner source material containing a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent is melted and kneaded in a pressure type sealable kneading machine which is equipped with a kneading tank, a pressure lid to seal the kneading tank and a pair of opposing rotors placed in the kneading tank, each rotor having a blade formed from one end of the rotor axis to the near center of the rotor axis toward the other end and not overlapping other blades and allowing a cooling water to circulate inside the blade; the kneaded mixture obtained in the melting and kneading step is cooled to solidify in the pressure type sealable kneading machine; and then the cooled and solidified kneaded mixture is pulverized.
