PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axlebox supporting device equipped with an enhanced steering performance during running on a curved track while the running stability during running on a straight track is secured. SOLUTION: The axlebox supporting device 50 is to support each axlebox 40 on a bogie frame 10 by a coupling means 53 extending approximately along the vehicle advancing direction, the axleboxes 40 being installed at the ends of each axle 30 of a bogie for rolling stock, wherein the coupling means is equipped with a body part 55, 57, 60, bushings 56 to support the body part swingably centering on a first rotary shaft stretching approximately in the direction across the car width relative to the axlebox or the bogie frame, an eccentric cam part 58 holding the bushings and supported on the body part rotatably round a second rotary shaft in eccentricity with respect to the first rotary shaft, and a friction member 59 installed between the eccentric am part and the body part and generating a prescribed friction torque when the eccentric cam part rotates relative to the body part.
