<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron golf club which can restrict a drop in yardage even a ball is hit off the sweet spot by making the lower side of the face part deflect effectively. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club has a head body 7H, which includes a face member 8 having a face surface 8c where a ball is hit and a lock area where the face member 8 is locked at a prescribed loft while including the sole part 7b, and a shaft which is mounted on the head body 7H at a prescribed lie. The face member 8 is provided with a bent part 8A at its end part on the sole side so arranged as to be bent backward while the angle with the face surface 8c is larger than 90°.
