PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm on a terminal, on a side where holding operation is attempted, the intention of a user of a terminal to be held and then perform operation corresponding thereto. SOLUTION: Holding correspondence information defining correspondence contents, associated with holding operation on an opposite-side terminal and/or correspondence contents in the holding operation at the opposite-side terminal, is reported to the opposite-side terminal, after origination and before channel generation. The telephone terminal having received the report recognizes the correspondence contents associated with the holding operation at the opposite-side terminal and/or the correspondence contents in the holding operation on the opposite-side terminal that the holding correspondence information indicates. Based on the recognition result, the reported correspondence contents associated with the holding operation or the correspondence contents in the holding operation are reported to the user.
