<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte membrane formed by integrating a nonwoven fabric as a porous body reinforcing an aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane, and preventing generation of a pin hole and a crack by repetition of swelling by water and heat. <P>SOLUTION: This polymer electrolyte membrane is formed by impregnating and integrating an aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte into/with a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based fiber nonwoven fabric. Since the aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte is impregnated and integrated into/with the PVA-based fiber nonwoven fabric, the polymer electrolyte is high in a generation suppression effect against a pin hole and a crack due to repeated swelling by water and heat, can improve durability of a fuel cell using it as a component, and can contribute cost reduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
