<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical part for illumination, as an optical part made of a silicone resin, which is not yellowed even if exposed with a strong light or heated for a long time, has high reliability in service life, makes an incident light refractive in a desired direction to efficiently emit the light and illuminate with remarkable brightness, and also to provide an illumination appliance using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical part 1 for illumination, as an optical part made of silicone to be disposed in the light-emitting direction of a light-emitting element 14, has a light transmissive portion 11 and an internal reflection portion 10, and the internal reflection portion 10 is covered with a metal layer or a transparent layer having a refractive index different from that of the silicone.
