<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device which can be formed in a simple and inexpensive structure and can attain a long life and a high production yield, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A body control part 40 forms lighting data of the exposure device on the basis of printing image data and determines which column of a plurality of light emitting element arrays 7, 8 and 9 on a light emitting element substrate 1 is to be used. Which column is to be used is determined not to continuously use the light emitting element array of the same column. For example, the number of output pages, a light emitting time, a luminance decrease level etc. are made switching conditions, and columns of the light emitting element arrays used are switched when the switching conditions are held. A driving control part 41 turns ON/OFF to drive a column selection TFT 13 by a column selection gate signal via a column selection gate cable 10, 11, 12 of the designated column, thereby selecting any of the light emitting element arrays 7, 8 and 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
