PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy sheet for a packaging container, which has superior strength and workability, and is suitable for use in manufacturing a thin-wall lightweight container, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy sheet for the packaging container comprises, by mass%, 0.2 to 0.4% Cu, 1.3 to 2.0% Mg, 0.7 to 1.3% Mn, 0.4 to 0.8% Fe, 0.1 to 0.4% Si and the balance Al with unavoidable impurities. The amount of dissolving Cu out of the above Cu is regulated to 0.08 mass% or more, and the amount of dissolving Si out of the above Si is regulated to less than 0.010 mass%.
