PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous epoxy resin composition having high dispersibility to an aqueous medium and compatibility to a base resin and a curing agent to give a cured coating film having high hardness and capable of remarkably improving the anticorrosion property of the cured coating film. SOLUTION: The aqueous epoxy resin composition contains (A) an epoxy resin represented by a bisphenol A epoxy resin, (B) an amine-based curing agent represented by an epoxy resin adduct of an aliphatic amine, (C) an aqueous medium and (D) an aromatic compound having an acryloyl group and represented by benzyl acrylate.
