<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a program of 12-segment broadcasting and that of 1-segment broadcasting at the same time, and to cope with a dynamic change of a broadcast organization in the 12-segment broadcasting. <P>SOLUTION: A receiving part 102 receives broadcasting waves and separates the broadcasting waves into data of first transmission characteristics, data of second transmission characteristics, and data of program information. A recording processing part 104 simultaneously records the data of first transmission characteristics and the data of second transmission characteristics that are supplied from the receiving part 102. A control part 108 controls the recording processing part 104 based on a user command supplied from a user interface 106.
