<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus and a method for operating the same, for providing a screen which displays driving guide information with picture frame images as a background image to enable provision of the driving guide information, while the picture frame images are appreciated. <P>SOLUTION: This navigation apparatus comprises an input section 131 which selects any one mode from among a guide mode, a picture frame mode and a composite mode for providing both the above guide mode and picture frame mode; a map data storage 141 in which map data to be used in the above guide mode are stored; a picture frame image storage 145 storing one or more images; a mode-based setting storage 147 for operation of each mode; and a control unit 120 which uses the map data to provide the driving guide information in the guide mode, uses the images to provide picture frame images in the picture frame mode, and provides both the picture frame images and the driving guide information in the composite mode, based on the mode-based setting, the driving guide information being displayed over the picture frame images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
